Remember the days when you used to choke down your mother’s steamed brussel sprouts and want to curl up and die? Not anymore! Brussel Sprouts have come a long way and this recipe is no exception! It is easy, minimal clean up and crispy! Boiled, steamed soggy brussel sprouts and broccoli are a thing of the past!
CUISINART AIR FRYER FOR THE WIN!
I love my Cuisinart Air Fryer! (click here to view/buy). It is more than just an Air Fryer, it is a way of life! Just kidding but it IS way more than an air fryer. It is also a toaster, broiler and convection oven. Say whaaaat?! It is also super spacious allowing you to cook everything in one batch. Other brands you have to do multiple batches to fit everything! Need I say more? This air fryer is currently sold on Amazon for 159.99 and I would buy it again in a heartbeat! AIR FRYER OR OVEN INSTRUCTIONS
If you don’t have an air fryer and don’t want to drop 160 bucks then don’t worry! you can make these in the oven and they taste scrumdiddlyumptious! Simply preheat your oven at 425 degrees, follow all the instructions below and bake for about 20 minutes flipping halfway through! voila!
NUTRITION
The recipe below is for 1 serving however you can double, triple, quadruple as you see fit! Per serving these scrumptious veggies have 161 calories, 9g fat, 14g carbs and 6g protein. They give you your servings of greens and make you feel like you’re winning at life! hooray!
REHEAT?
I actually like to eat these cold as leftovers but feel free to reheat these bad boys in the microwave. I would say start at 30 seconds and go from there. Broccoli reheats really quickly (it also stinks up the house/office you name it lol).
PREP
These take five minutes top to prep. Just make sure that you cut both veggies into bite size pieces. For the brussel sprouts I cut off the end and then slice them in half. If they are really big I will quarter them instead. For the broccoli I buy the bag of florets and then any large pieces I just slide the knife right through the floret to break them into smaller pieces. Not magic or culinary school needed here, just get them to bite size and you are good to go!
SERVE WITH
I served this with a delicious steak that I also made in the Air Fryer (click here to view that recipe!) but you can serve it with any main that you want! Grilled steak (if you don’t have an air fryer), Honey Lemon Salmon, Susan’s Grilled Salmon, Grilled Chicken (if you’re really trying to be healthy), skies the limit!
