These sweet potato buns are the healthy alternative to bread! Sweet potatoes have a ton of health benefits and you should jump on the sweet potato train immediately!
I initially got this recipe while searching for a healthy pulled pork recipe but the site I found it on no longer exists. Lucky for you, I am here to share the secret to these tasty little buns!
Pro Tip: When buying the sweet potatoes, be sure to look for round ones because the diameter will be the size of your bun. I have included measurements for the spices in the recipe below but honestly I just sprinkle a little of each spice over the top of the sweet potato slices.
Use the slices as buns for your favorite meat. I personally love them with this pulled pork recipe!
Products I love to use when making this recipe:
- 5 lbs sweet potato
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
- 1/4 tsp cumin
- 1/4 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.

slice the potatoes in 1/4" thick rounds. lay them out on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet.

brush each slice with coconut oil and sprinkle with the spices. flip slices and repeat.

bake for 35 minutes or until golden brown on the edges and cooked through.

top with pulled pork or any meat of your choice! Enjoy!
