This honey lemon salmon is super easy and delicious! With 10 minutes (or less) on the prep and 14 minutes on the grill (no supervision required) this is a slam dunk!
NUTRITION
Per serving (approx 1 – 6oz fillet) this recipe has 262 calories, 11g carbs, 7.5g fat and 35g of protein. It is seriously a no brainer, a must have meal. Salmon is filled with Omega 3 fatty acids, which are considered a healthy fat. Omega 3’s serve as energy to the muscles, heart and other organs and they also reduce inflammation in the body. I am only scratching the surface on the benefits of salmon but the moral of the story is to EAT IT!
HONEY & LEMON
Let’s get this straight. I am not a fan of honey or lemon BUT I decided to try this combo and it was really delicious. I think the addition of soy sauce, garlic and red chili pepper flakes really knocked this one out of the park.
FOIL PACK
I made this salmon just like I make all of my other salmon recipes… in a foil pack, on the grill! I was going to cook it on the stovetop and then I said why? Why mess with a good thing? You simply place the salmon on a large sheet of tin foil and tent the sides like the photo shown in the recipe below. Clean up is a breeze and it’s delicious every time! It’s fool proof, I swear! (However, if you live in a cold region you can follow the recipe below and use the oven instead!)
WHERE TO BUY
I buy my salmon at Costco (shocker!) however you can find it at your local supermarket. I buy my soy sauce and honey at Trader Joe’s because you can’t beat the prices! Most of the spices below I buy at Von’s (local supermarket) because they have the most variety, however, I would always check Trader Joe’s first because the prices are much more affordable (spices are expensive!).
SERVE WITH
I served this with white rice however if you are looking for a more carb friendly option, serve with Cauliflower Rice or Cauliflower hash. Or serve it up with some grilled vegetables and you have yourself a nice low carb, low cal, low fat meal. Boom!
Hope you devour this, just like my husband did!
