This air fryer steak recipe is PERFECT! It is super easy, minimal cleanup and you can’t mess it up! I mean you just can’t! I am beginning to LOVE my air fryer! I have the Cuisinart Air Fryer that is not only an air fryer but also a toaster, an oven and broiler in ONE (click here to view/buy)! The best part is that it is so spacious that you can do a lot of things in one batch that takes everyone else two! score!!
MEAT
I buy my meat at Costco and tend to go for the top sirloin cut. I would love filet mignon every night but I don’t want to pay for it LOL. That leaves me with top sirloin which is similar in the fact that it is not a fatty cut but it is about half the price. I usually go for about a 7 oz piece which is good for me especially if I am not having it with carbs on the side.
MEAT TEMPERATURES
I like my steak medium. Growing up we would eat it medium rare but as I get older medium is perfectly fine for me! To make sure that you cook your steak to perfection you should buy a meat thermometer. They are not expensive and take the guessing out of when the meat is done. I have this one from Amazon (click here to view/buy). Internal temps for steak are as follows:
- 125 degrees for rare
- 135 degrees for medium rare
- 145 degrees for medium
- 150 degrees for medium well
SERVE WITH
Sky is the limit on what you can serve steak with! A couple favorites of ours are brussel sprouts and broccoli, Cauliflower Hash, Cauliflower Rice, roasted butternut squash, cranberry & feta butternut squash or even a handful of raviolis! (click each side to view the recipe).
DINE IN
Many of you know that eating out is bad for your waistline and your wallet. This recipe is so easy that there is no reason to go out on the town and spend obnoxious amounts of money on a steak dinner. Head to Trader Joe’s (or Costco – you don’t need a membership to buy alcohol there – click here to read all about it) get yourself a nice bottle of wine for under $10 and air fry (or grill – click here for that recipe) your favorite cut of meat.
